Leak in the trunk

Yesterday before washing my car, I took 2 beach towels out of the trunk and they were soaking wet.

My car sits in a garage at both my house and at work. Last week I was at a training class and it sat outside and it rained all day. I'm assuming this is when the towels got wet.

There was what looked like it being wet on the trunk mat and went through and got the spare tire cover wet as well. Looked like it was mostly on the drivers side.

Anyone else with issues? Car is 2011 G37X w/ 5000 miles on it.

No issues here but I'd inspect the trunk seal. If your trunk has dried out now, maybe try spraying some water around the trunk seal with the trunk closed to see if it is in fact the seal that is causing water to get in? With only 5,000 miles - repair would be presumably be covered under warranty.

When the car was outside I'm assuming the trunk wasn't accidentally popped?

I visually checked the seal and didn't see anything out of the norm. I guess I'll have to wait until I take it in for an oil change and have them look at it.
The trunk wasn't opened when it was parked outside. It wasn't a few drops either. If I were to guess it would have had to been at least 8oz of water.

If you open the sedan trunk after washing, a lot of water drips into the trunk itself. Do you think that you opened the trunk after the rain and it spilled in?

No, I didn't wash it yet. It has not been raining here for at least 3-4 days. Opened the trunk and pulled out beach towels and they were soaking wet before I even started to wash the car.

Sorry, I should have clarified; anytime the sedan trunk lid is wet and you open it, a lot of the moisture will drip into the truck space. If you are sure the towels were soaked well before the trunk was opened then I think a trip to the dealer is your next step.

Never had a problem with water getting in the trunk.
Are you sure the trunk wasn't accidentally unlocked? I have accidentally unlocked mine quite a few times, even after putting a rubber cover over the fob, so the buttons were a bit more recessed.
