Difference between 2010 G37s?

When I check for tires on the Tirerack for my 2010 sedan, journey, it asks if it was built before or after 3/2010.
I never have read anything on the forums about any difference between 2010 models, due to their build date.
Mine was built before 3/2010.

I believe that may have to do with a change to the TPMS...not certain.

correct, it is the TPMS. models prior to march 2010 had different TPMS. this only applies if you are buying new TPMS. if you are reusing your TPMS, then don't worry about it.

My question was about the differences between the G37 sedans that were manufactured before 3/2010 and the 2010 sedans made after 3/2010.

It is not the age of the tire! It's when the car was produced.

That's what they are telling you. There is NO DIFFERENCE except they started using a different TPMS system. That's it.

Please explain why you think the code/number on the tire somehow relates to when the car was produced.

I was replying to this question, not the TPMS related answer already given to the OP.

This is going to get confusing...

What you said is correct about determining tire age. My comment was not meant the way you took it. By the context it seemed like the person asking you how to determine the age of the tire thought that was how you determined if TPMS changed. That's why I said it does not go by tire age, but vehicle build date.

Catch me? lol

...basically my comment to your quoted link was not intended for you, rather INFINITI G37

Judging by the responses, and the original question, I dont think his question was answered. The main difference between the production dates are that anything built in or prior to 3/2010 is what will be considered the "older" body style. After 3/2010 its the newer redesigned model. TireRack asks so that all choices for oem AND aftermarket show up for your specific car only and it makes navigating the site smoother. With the newer body style came new wheel styles, different TPMS, and different oem tires like Dunlop in place of Bridgestone or Goodyear on the earlier models. With the newer body style also came and interior redesign with a different console, a higher resolution nav screen, upgraded materials, and a few other upgrades as well as option choices and different aero package styling. I hope this answers the original question, and hope it can help those who are just lurking still in the research phase like I once was.

The newer bodystyle were available prior to March 2010. And my 2010 came with Goodyear RS-A. I'm pretty sure it's due to the TPMS. Wheel specs are the same prior or after 3/10, so that doesn't make a difference.

^^ The question was correctly answered the first time...just the TPMS in the wheels changed as per ITB10-050a
