Metal sound shifting

So i started running into this issue and i have no idea what it is. Whenever i have my car parked and i turn my wheel and put it in reverse when i start moving back i hear a sound like two metals hitting. It also happens sometimes when going from drive to reverse, its always with the steering wheel turned i want to take it to the dealer but its not something i can always reproduce. has anyone ran into this??

Sounds like it may be play in the drive shaft or loose mounts on the transmission.

Your ABS adjusts when you pack up and makes a very distinct click, but maybe since you say it happens more than just in reverse it's something else.

WOW, neither of those sound very appealing! the only problem is being in school there really isnt a dealership in the area and if I'm home for the weekend service is closed! guess I'll have to figure something out

I've actually narrowed it down, it has something to do with the steering... whenever i go past a certain point going slowly there the sound appears again

What kind of sound? Clunk, thud, tink, etc?

It could be almost anything... get it to a shop.

The dealership ordered a new steering rack for me under warranty, so it was something to do there
