Thanks, man. It was $225 for both sides. Seemed like a decent deal.

My dealership, surprisingly, was the cheapest quote at $125. Their tint guy said he would do it. I made a deposit elsewhere though, mainly because they guaranteed their work, I've just been too busy to go and have them do it, especially since they said it would take 3 hours to do it.

^used you writeup (very helpful). But I averaged about 1hr per window if you factor in the prep work (making the templates) and taking ample time to place the vinyl on the trim, tucking, cutting, etc.

First timer though and I'm sure everyone works at their own pace. But the $200+ install cost is easily avoidable.

Vinyl is an imperfect material for cars. Never 100%, but you can get close with skills that I don't have, slightly less close otherwise. Modding cars is all about compromise, and deciding when to stop at Good Enough.

Yup. I'm redoing my vinyl. I should have prepped better, but it was also my first time using vinyl. I would pay someone but I like working on my own car.

I did my own vinyl using blnewt's guide, and it was surprisingly easier than i thought. By no means is it perfect, but for about an hour and half of my time, it saved me a couple hundred bucks!

The 3M air release technology in their wrap makes the install a lot easier!

I'm staring at this pic, wondering why your 20" CVT setup on Swift Springs looks so different than my 19" CVT setup on Swift Springs... then I saw the little brakes, and I realized your car is a xS. And there it is right in your sig line. My bad.

AWD Swifts lower the rear to a more perfect height. They just do.

Looking good, lilsix. Beautiful wheels, good drop.

Staggered Vossen's
20x9 with 245/35/20
20x10.5 with 285/30/20

Swift awd springs. No rubbing at all
The ride quality.... very harsh. Going over bumps makes me feel like something is going to break.
I've had many lowered cars. Springs, coilovers, ..... this is harsh

Yep, going from 17" tires w/ tall sidewalls and soft OEM springs to 20" low profiles and lowering springs is a dramatic difference. Hopefully you'll get used to it but sounds like it wasn't what you were expecting

You'll be much happier w/ the vinyl, it matches the center pillars perfectly, much easier to clean compared to the dip, and no rough texture

The xS had 18x7.5" duckfeet, square, with summer tires.
