Unhappy Advice on buying the 2012 G25

Hello,

I live in Dubai and I plan on buying the 2012 G25 for around $40K .

Now I heard ( and read in this forum ) mixed news on when the new generation is coming out.

Is it a good idea to buy the infiniti now? I don't want to buy a car that its design is going to change in 7-8 months...

Thanks!

I don't know when they were to be released in various locations. I've seen one or two in the DC area.

Thank you parker,

It is already released here, what I meant is any idea when are they going to change its looks?

Like would the 2013 model have a new look?

I say don't get the G25. After test driving both, I feel that the difference in power would be sorely missed. My wife constantly reminds me that we made the right decision by getting the G37.

I've looked for photos of the next design of the G series and can't find any. Either Infiniti is keeping it a close secret or there is no design change in the next 1-2 years.

The current design is a few years old (08?) so that makes 5 years worth, on the streets, so I understand your concern.

Please share your thoughts on why you are choosing the g25?

For more power and better economy, i'd be looking a turbo 4 cyl rather than n/a 6 cyl (even if it is a small 2.5L). The new 4's make quite a bit of power, up to 270HP when coupled with a turbo.

I would however stay away from kia/hyundai.

If you are looking for reasonable power, and economy. I suggest looking at the new 328i

audi a4 has the best bang for your buck I think you'd be happy with one of those than a G25.

we all screamed when they went to the 2.5L v6... i mean the G25 is really a dressed up altima now... they should've went i4-turbo.

Dressed up or not, it's still a rwd car with the chassis of a g37 and the driveline of an altima (minus fwd). Strange combination indeed.

I don't understand why people compare the G25 to an Altima. Just because the G25 and Altima have a 2.5 liter engine doesn't make them comparable. As a matter of fact, the only thing common is the size of the engine. One is an I4, the other a V6. One is CVT, the other is 7 spd auto. FWD vs RWD. The list goes on and on. Brakes are different, interior materials are different.

The styling will not change for a couple more years. 2014 at the earliest, from what I have heard from Infiniti dealers and other threads here and G35Driver.com

considering they just recently launched the facelift, its safe to say 2014 redesign is looking more promising than 2013

I paid less than 40k for a Limited Edition G37. Not sure why you would be paying 40k for a G25, unless they are much more expensive in Dubai.

(I've been to Dubai and Jebel Ali, btw - beautiful cities)

Have you test driven both the G25 and the G37? Just curious why you're going for a G25...
