7 weeks later, picked up car from the bodyshop

Some of you may know, my car was rear ended on the freeway on October 17. Here is the original thread about it.

https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...-totalled.html

Today, after 7 weeks in the shop and $17,600 later, I picked up the car. It is good as new. Even smells new because of the new leather smell. They replaced the backseat due to scratches from the rear glass. Overall, the body shop did a phenomenal job on putting it back together, and the paint match is perfect. Customer service has been outstanding from start to finish, and they really paid attention to every detail. Here are a couple of quick pics. I still need to get the rear glass re-tinted and my tail lights redone. And excuse the hole in my license plate, I need to go to DMV for a new one.

Looks like your body shop did a great job. I'm sure you will be going over the car with a fine tooth comb to be sure everything is working as it should. Feels good to get it back huh? Enjoy

Nice to hear a good story about someone's car being repaired properly. Looks nice...I like the black on the rear.

Whatever happened to the guy that hit you?

It looks like they did a fantastic job....all of the body gaps looks even and the paint appears to match. That said, you had a lot of damage...hope there are not continuing issues.

Seems like good work, can't really tell if the body lines are even from pictures but all looks good and brand new.

I hope they fry the guy that hit you. Nothing pisses me off more than a hit and run A-hole.
Although I would have chased him down and performed the PIT maneuver.

Looks are one thing... How does the car actually drive? Any pulls, drifts, accelerates/stops in a straight line, no pulling?

Insurance wouldn't total the car. It's 15 months old with 14k miles. Book value is way more than that. The work is totally clean. All the lines match up and the paint match is spot on. Drives fine so far. I haven't had the chance to take it on a long drive on the freeway yet. But in anycase, I have lifetime warranty on the work and paint. I'll drive it more this weekend and get a full feel of the car. CHP did find the other guy. I'm not sure what they did to him, but the police report did indicate that they found him and he admitted to the accident. I know they cited him on several counts. Anyways, glad to be rid of the rental. 2011 Taurus Limited. bleh.

7 weeks...that's brutal, but glad to hear you are back in the driver's seat. Looks good! I see you decided to go with the gloss black again on the diffuser.

Take her out for a long run and get reacquainted again!
