I used to think that keyless entry/start were a gimmick

until I took my wife's suv to Costco.
Having to find the keys to unlock the hatch only to have to dig them out of a pocket again (when you are already seatbelted in) to start the car was a pain.

Maybe the G37 is just making me lazy.

yea it is very nice to have. so many times without it i find myself holding something in my left arm then trying to get my keys out of my right pocket to open the trunk but i have to put everything down because my keys are in the left pocket.

I also used to think that way--I also used to think the reverse camera would've been a waste but now I can't see myself without them.

I love it aswell. Last month when I took delivery of my new G37 I was driving home and had the key fob in my pocket. The door began unlocking and locking themselves on there own as I was driving. I was like "Sh*t, theres already something wrong". But come to find out the key fob was pushing up against the side bolster and the button was being pushed!!!! LOL i felt stupid!

Other then that, I love IT!

its definitely not a gimmik.....its just an extra step in comfort and accessability.

people who argue that you should be able to park without a camera....or enter the car with your key are just jealous

its also great to not have to fiddle in your pockets looking for keys and such.

I can't imagine buying a car without it now. Every time I drive someone else's car with out it, I feel like an idiot when I search for the nonexistant start button.

+1 for all the posts. I used to think the keyless entry was gimmicky, along with the backup camera...a few months later having to fish for keys in my pocket is so yesterday lol. I can'te believe how convenient it actually is. The backup camera is a great safety feature, while I still look out the back and in the side mirrors, it's good to see if anything is directly under the car.

Convenience and lockout protection are excellent. My next car will definitely have it as well. My wife thinks our system is better than the Lexus system which uses proximity since she likes the buttons for unlocking all doors on second click. I prefer the proximity system as it turns lights on under side view mirrors.

Yeah, it's especially noticeable how convenient it is when you own another vehicle without these features. Pulling keys out of your pocket almost seems ancient at times. But then, there are still those times I approach the G and I'm digging the key out, then realize...duh! It's like when we had two vehicles with two different features at the same location...it would always drive me crazy turning the windshield wipers on when I was intending to turn the lights on!

Once you've had the keyless entry/start you can never go back. Whenever I drive my wife's Civic I always find myself trying to unlock the car via the button on the door - having to fish keys out of my pocket is a real hassle now. Man I've become lazy.

Don't get me started on opening the Civic's trunk with the key.

It is great for the most part but I was going somewhere today and had to sit in the car a little bit while it was parked so I turned off the engine and just turned on the AC so I could listen to the radio and when I exited the car I pressed the button thinking I turned off the AC because the nav screen turns off momentarily (so I thought it was off) but I guess I didn't wait long enough to leave the car because when I got back the radio was still on. Not even sure why it didn't turn off properly but that would never happen with a key. Luckily I was only gone for 20 minutes. Any longer and I would have ended up with a dead battery. Besides that I love it, especially with grocery shopping where the keys always seemed to be in the same pocket where your hand is the most full.

+1...I so much agree. My wife's Highlander does not have the feature...something I very much miss when I'm relegated to driving her ride.

I tried a volvo s60T6 AWD, because my g37X lease come to the end.
ANd there is a keyless entry, but to start the car you need to put the key fob in a hole and press a button. When the engine is running you can take it off. But this is a bit stupid
