Sound system changes 08 to 11??

Were there any changes to the sound system from the 2008 to the 2011's?
The system in mY 2011 Sedan is much better sounding than in my 08 coupe.

Ofcuz .. over years, there are improvements over a car. thats why never buy a car just been released , and wait for a couple years till its mature enough~

As far as 'Sound' goes, my 11 sounds exactly the same to me as my 07 did with the exception of when I enable the drivers audio stage.
Did the sound 'System' change, yes. The whole GUI is different if you have Nav

Both cars have Nav, and I always use the drivers sound stage.
The difference I hear is a much clearer sound, higher highs, lower lows, and good midrange.
The 08 just did not sound this good.

Good lesson here... Stay away from first model year vehicles. Refinements typically appear in the following year or later.

Refinements will also be made when they opt for an entirely new model after 2013.
So quit with the paranoia and choose

You are also comparing sedan to a coupe. From past experience, stock sound systems have always sounded better in sedans than in coupes......at least it was the case in my past 3 series and honda accord. I havent compared the G coupe vs g sedan, but that could be a factor as well. COULD.

I've heard that the Bose system sounds better in the sedan. I've never heard the coupe's Bose system but I do think my sedans system is great.

When I first got my '11, I thought the sound was tinny compared to my previous Subaru Legacy GT. There are a number of posts and reviews that support this. I found that dialing up the bass and fading it one tick to the rear made it sound much better. That's just my ears though, and they're kinda big.

I think the sound system is just lacking overall and could be better. I had the 08 coupe and it wasn't much to brag about. Bose might be good for the home entertainment systems but in the cars they have yet to impress me in the same way.

Voice commands (I think you must have ALTERNATE COMMAND MODE enabled)
"drivers audio stage ON"
or
"drivers audio stage OFF"

Manually, I recall it's in Settings/Audio
