To tint or not to tint?
I have 35% on the fronts. Rear windows are darker!! It depends where you live to! I am still a bit paranoid about getting stop! I really don't want a fix ticket! In the night they are completely dark! Can't see anything through them! Sometimes I wish I was a bit lighter on the fronts!

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to provide that a person may drive a motor vehicle with a nonreflective material tinted film that does not allow less than 50% light transmittance upon the side windows immediately adjacent to each side of the driver. Deletes an exemption to certain window obstruction provisions for motor vehicles manufactured prior to January 1, 1982. Prohibits the use of a reflective material on the front windshield and side windows immediately adjacent to each side of the driver for persons afflicted with or suffering from a medical illness, ailment, or disease which would require that person to be shielded from the direct rays of the sun. Provides that is a petty offense for an installer who installs window treatment for a person with medical condition to fail to obtain and store a copy of a doctor's certificate or letter from the person with medical condition in the installer's permanent records.
Senate Floor Amendment No. 1
Adds reference to:
625 ILCS 5/3-412 from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 3-412
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to provide that a person may drive a motor vehicle with a nonreflective material tinted film that does not allow less than 50% light transmittance (or less than 35% light transmittance if the windows to the rear of the driver already have certain window treatment applied) upon the side windows immediately adjacent to each side of the driver. Deletes a front windshield exemption for persons afflicted with or suffering from a medical illness, ailment, or disease. Deletes an exemption to certain window obstruction provisions for motor vehicles manufactured prior to January 1, 1982. Provides that is a petty offense for a first offense and a Class C misdemeanor for a second offense for an installer to install window treatment on motor vehicles that do not have specified license plates or stickers. Effective immediately.
If you want tint but dont want to much or to little I say go with 35% on the front and back. its a great middle ground and will keep ur leather from drying out in 90F+ temps. Makes the car look better too.
^ You implying tinted glass on a Dodge Caravan looks better than film on a sports car???? You're logic is flawed severely
Back on the subject...... yes, 35% or darker (ceramic if you can afford it)
Back on the subject...... yes, 35% or darker (ceramic if you can afford it)
Had 20% on rear, sides, and windshield on my 2008 G35x Sedan, planned appointment for next Monday for 7% on the rear and sides and 17% on Windshield for my 2011 G37xS Sedan...tints rock!
Yes I am. Why is my logic flawed? Film is the cheap way to go and basically sux. Tinted glass is the only way to go. My logic is not flawed but you may have a different opinion and that is fine.
While I certainly agree that custom tinted glass is better option, I don't think it's practical for most folks. Won't say your logic is flawed, just difference of opinion. Personally, I have had all my vehicles tinted. The AZ sun is brutal!!
