All the stuff I fit in the G for our 19 day trip.

I took a picture of all the stuff we packed into the G , after we unloading when we got home from our 3 week, 3800 mile trip.
My wife and I sat up front and our Boston Terrier sat in the rear passenger seat, with the seat belt through his harness.
We had used SUV's for our longer trips before and last year we were concerned that we wouldn't be able to fit everything we needed, for an extended trip, in our G37.
I was so impressed last year with the amount of stuff we took along on our trip in the G37, that I wanted to document it this year.
We just bought a 2011 Santa Fe, for my wife to go shopping, etc. The Santa Fe probably would have made more sense to take, since we take so much stuff with us, but I was happy last year taking the G37, fully loaded and I was glad we used it again this year.

That's a lot of stuff! Did you increase your air pressure at all to account for the extra load, and to help a bit with mileage?

No, I didn't put any more air pressure in the tires. It probably would have been a good idea to add another 3 to 5 psi.

I wasn't trying to set any kind of record as far as stuffing stuff into the G, that was just what the wife seemed to think what we needed to take

I got 27.8 mpg on the overall 3,800 mile trip. I kept it at approximately 78 on the interstates and 72 on the secondary highways.
I've had zero problems to date with the G, in the 15 months and 14,700 miles that I've had it.
My biggest concern when taking longer road trips is parking safely at motels. I did fine. No door dings, paint chips, hail dents or scratches.
I spent a lot of the time in KS and MO. Every night there would be thunder storm warnings with possible severe winds and large hail. One night we left the motel and parked under a roof for an ATM, at a bank, for 2 hours, while it hailed.
Never again will we be foolish enough to visit the KS/MO area this time of year. It wouldn't have been so stressful if I had the car in a garage while we were there.

Next trip I'll take a picture of the fully loaded trunk and then all the stuff that I take out of it.
On our first trip, a year ago, I loaded the large bag first (it's the one by the right exhaust) It measures 32X24x11 empty and puffs out a few inches more when full. I put the bag in so the length was facing right to left. After that it didn't look like much room was left for anything else.
That's when my wife said there was no way we could take the G, on our long trips, because we wouldn't be able to take what she thinks is required.
Then when I was about ready to agree with her I pulled the bag out and turned it so it was facing fwd/aft. It barely squeezed in. Once in place it left room on both sides and I put the dog crate and one of the carry on bags (facing it left to right), on top of it.
I purposely went with the sedan versus the coupe for the extra room, when taking a trip and thought I made a mistake not getting a larger vehicle, until I managed packing all the luggage into the G.
We have a 2011 Santa Fe, but why drive it on an extended trip when you can drive a G37.
