Help critique a NEW 6MT driver (video + Injen)
Evening all,
Took this video with the intent of getting a sound clip of the car with the Injen Cold Airs installed, but I left the window open, thinking it would help
. Stupid mistake. Anyways, I've been looking for some tips on how to drive the car properly between spirited runs. I think I'm dropping my clutch between quick shifts. Not sure if this video can tell you much, but I'd appreciate a comment or two on what I MIGHT BE doing wrong. You can see the needle jiggle a little as it hits 4th
. Be easy on me, please.
Sorry, it's only a short clip - couldn't keep on going...80 mile speed limit was coming up -_-. Hope I don't get in trouble for this? Taken with my phone - turn your volumes DOWN a bit!!!
Eric

At this high of a gear, no one is going to be able to tell a whole lot. If you really want a critique of your shifting abilities, you need to make a video from a stand still from 1 through 3rd or 4th. Lower gears are what take skill, once up in 4th-6th it's really not much more then full clutch depress, shift and release. Shouldn't really need any feathering at that point.
It did seem however that you did try to "feather" the clutch a bit when not needed.
