somebody scratched the driver side mirror up pretty badly and the scratch has been bothering me since it is quite obvious. Anybody know how much just the cover plate is painted from the dealership....i heard it is easy to install yourself right?....i appreciate the feedback

 

Your best bet is to find a local body shop and have them sand+repaint the side mirror. Since it's a small operation, it shouldn't cost more than $200-300 bucks.
