I can attest that VDC turned off on an X + snow = lots of 4wheel drifting fun. Though I have to say that leaving the VDC turned on in the rain with aggressive use of throttle in a corner will produce a decent slide before stepping in (not much counter steer needed).

The worst oversteer I experienced was when I had -2.7 camber in the back, it snapped really hard even with VDC on, kinda scary.

Definetly some wheel hop on hard take off in wet or dry.

yeah it's really annoying, huh? being my first rwd car, i have no idea how to make it "smoothen" out. fwd cars have motor mounts for the wheel hop...rwd cars have...what?

My 06 G35 had the same problem.
i think excessive wheel hop could damage the LSD. Correct?

As far as i can tell, its just as good. The tail slides out easily, and stays in your control. Try DS or tiptronic -> VDC off. You'll be happy with the results. (:
