Key FOB Warning

Hi guys,

I had this warning on my dash for the last week. I took a picture because I'm actually a little confused by it. I know it means I need to replace my battery in my key fob, but I was just wondering what it was showing. Is it 3/4 full battery, or 3/4 empty?

Heres the picture:

I believe it's showing 3/4 empty. The black portion on the left side is the "empty" while the solid portion on the right hand side is the remaining battery power.

Read your owner's manual...it tells you in that little book they gave you with the car.

Just plug it into the slot right by the hood release, you should be fine.

Then you have to start entering your car through your sunroof - so make sure you keep it open (jk). I think the batteries are relatively cheap to replace so you probably just want to do that before it gets too low.

Actually it doesn't...I looked there first. It didn't show how to read the gauge.

well, unless you have a keyhole delete, you can use the hard key that is in your ikey.

No Brad, I think they assume people can figure out if the battery is low and at what point. I'm talking about your question on what to do if the battery (in your key) goes dead.

Look on page 134 in this manual. This is like the one you should have and read.

That is actually just an icon and not a guage. It always looks like that no matter how low the battery is.

Take the key out and insert it in drivers side door to unlock, place the fob in it's slot when you get in, if it's dead. Mine has had the low battery icon for the past two years and Ive been fine fyi, don't worry !
