Red face I know this shouldnt be in G37 sedan but its a G35

THe only reason im posting here is because i think you guys have more expertise then the g35 forum. i asked a question before about getting a salvage and you guys helped alot, thanks. I decided not to buy the previous car i mentioned earlier due to finding out it was wrecked completely in the front. anywho, i found this [Autowini.com] U.S.A Salvage Car 2007 Infiniti G35 X AWD SEDAN

ITs a g35 2007 with 48k miles , it was hit on the right side near the windshield and that is the only damage point on the vehicle. the car was scratched on the passenger side doors and you can see the airbags deployed on that side as well, nothing hit the front and both front airbags didnt deploy. BEST PART, IT IS NOT A SALVAGE TITLE! <<<<<THis is how excited i am because i think its a good deal. Can i just get your guys input on this car and whether iits a good idea or not? forget about the price, but lets say if i were to repair it, wouldnt it be ok since nothing major was hit? Thanks for your help guys , i have been trying to own a g35 or g37 for like 2 years now, and i never could afford it, i think this might be my chance. Thanks again

Maybe I'm missing something...but that ad says it is a salvage title?

Are you trying to buy a wrecked G to save money? My opinion is stay away from anything that has been crashed...find a legit car and buy that. If cost is that big of an issue that you're only hunting for wrecked ones to save money on it, maybe it just isn't the time in your life for a G.

Not trying to be rude...just sharing my opinion...

Not at all, thanks for your reply but yea it does say salvage on the site but i ran the vin and it shows an accident but it is still a clear title. the only reason i was interested in this one in particular was because it wasnt really wrecked, as you can see, its all cosmetic and nothing to do with the engine or drivetrain.

This car is not that badly wrecked. As you stated, it IS mostly cosmetic damage oeverall. Hopefully the pros will chime in.

It's going to be fairly costly to repair it. It looks like the passenger / side curtain airbags have deployed. The passenger door will probably have to be replaced as will the mirror and front quarter panel, plus paint.

I'm not saying this is the right thing to do, but if you buy the vehicle with a clean title then repair it out of your own pocket, the title should stay clear.

If you don't want issues selling it in the future, buy it now and fix it yourself.

the vehicle seems ok. I would imagine that damage is gonna be like 5-6k.. airbag replacement will be like 5-600 of that.

it really just comes down to why you want the car. if it's your dream car and money is a concern, don't forget the cost of ownership. if it's just so you have a car, I say it's probably fine... if it's purely cosmetic.

I would guesstimate the repair for this car would be $8,000 or more, which brings a total investment of nearly $21,000, and you could probably find a used 2007 with no damage for close to that.

+1^ - I had a Maxima that had much lighter damage on the right rear quarter panel that what I saw on this car...$3,500. Add in the A pillar replacement, the other damage, and deployed air bags I would not touch. A lot of potential structural damage.....and then no resale. If nothing else, you could pay a body shop estimator a few bucks to give you an estimate on repair costs.
