post debadge question
sooo i debadged a couple days ago and my friend hooked me up with this cleaner to get rid of the goo. but turns out the cleaner actually strips off wax as well and now the back of my car where the infiniti letters and g37 used to be look "non shiny" anymore. how long does it usually take to build up the wax?
I think you just marred your clear a bit. Not from the cleaner, but most likely from the rag you used with cleaner on it. Honeslty not a big deal, happens a lot in debadging. You will need a polish though, then re-apply whatever protection you had(wax, sealant, etc).
when i debadged i just used a hairdryer and meguiars scratch x 2.0 and everything came off really easily without any marks. however when i was taking off an emblem my dealership put on, i got the same kind of marks as the OP posted. what kind of polish do you guys recommend for that kind of paint damage? i scratch x2.0 doesnt do any good against it and neither does a light polishing compount by turtle wax. :/
