Yeah. Its the same way in my 06 maxima, A/C always on even in cold weather. I was reading the manual and it stated when using heat to turn the A/C off. But in auto Mode it will always come on.
The manual for the G37 (2009) says to simply press the Auto button and leave the A/C on for "Cooling and Dehumidified Heating." If you just want to heat and not dehumidify, press auto & then press the A/C button to turn it off.
I don't see how that works. You have to physically turn off the AC, it doesn't come on and off on its own.
now if you live in Florida I can see where you'd never mess with it. And the AC running just eats more gas too.
What good is an "Auto Climate Control" if you have to manually tell it what to do?
Cooling and/or dehumidified heating (AUTO) :
This mode may be used all year round. The
system works automatically to control the inside
temperature, air flow distribution and fan
speed after the preferred temperature is set
manually.
