Is there such a thing as a 2011 g37x sedan Anniversary edition?

I signed a contract at the dealer last week and I get a call today saying the shipping date for that car has been pushed back, but they happen to have an anniversary edition on hand w/ the exact same package I requested.

Does this sound fishy? Not sure if I should pursue this ..

Yes, they had one at the dealer when I bought mine.

 

Not sure, but I thought it was 2010 when then had anniversary editions.

 

The Anniversary Edition was 2010. For 2011 they changed the package to the Limited Edition, they might also call it the Special Edition. It is essentially the same options, except the Limited Edition comes in the available Malbec Black.

I saw the limited edition at my dealership. It had a Really cool Black paint with Red flake mixed in.!

 

That is the Malbec Black. Great color.

 

My wife loved the color but you can't get it in a manual.

 

Maybe you can get the IPL version...

 

maybe it's the picture, but that black has more depth! i like it!!!!!!

 

Besides the limited edition there's also supposed to be a "Sport Appearance Edition". What are the differences between the two of them?

The power is actually the exact same. The only one that has more power is an IPL version which is not being released in the sedan only the coupe. It is essentially as others have said the exact same as the anniversary edition except its called limited edition (when in fact nothing limited about it at all there will be many of them made) and you can get it in malbec black.

 

They're making an IPL version for the convertible too.

 

FYI: 2011 sedan does not the "extra power" for it is not an IPL model. For now, IPL is only for coupe. Melbac black with red interior is the limited/special edition only for 2011 models. 2010 Anniversary editions are Shadow graphite with red interior only. 2011 special models are only special due to the red seats, not more hp.
