Is this normal?

My brand new 2011 G37 is making a rattling (or vibrating) sound when I'm playing music. Or rather whenever something caused a shake... Even with just enough bass, it would frequently make that rattling sound from the glove compartment and/or right front door area. I first thought it might be speakers, but they seem fine.

Is this common? I mean if it was a modified speakers with loud sound, I can understand the shake (or some rattle). But from stock Bose sounds, it is a bit annoying to hear a humming rattle...

If it's not common, I'll take my car in for a fix. But I just wanted to hear your thoughts first. Thanks in advance.

this car has rattles in various spots. my 2010 has a rattle in the rear deck when i turn up the volumn or when the bass hits hard. it also rattles over rough roads even when the stereo is off. it's normal, but is it acceptable? probably not. you can take it to the dealer if you want them to rip your car apart and try to put in some insulation to stop the rattle.

That's exactly what I'm afraid of... ripping the new car apart to stop the rattle. I guess it's a lose lose situation... sigh.

I got the rear deck rattle too. it all depends on temperature i think. sometime the rattles are there sometime its not. I just try to keep as little of the interior expose to the brutal sun as possible. tints + windshield reflector helps.

Surprisingly, my g37 convertible doesn't rattle... If it did though, i would probably take it in to get it looked at while its still new.

mine doesn't rattle for anything...

check for lose change or something of your personal items that might be causing it.

Check the storage area in the door for any items left there.

Also, check that the passenger seatbelt buckle is in a normal position (if it's hanging loose or at an odd angle it will cause a rattling sound).

Just pop five clips and a couple of velcro strips holding the trunk liner in place underneath the rear deck, find the 3" hole in the bottom of the deck located left of the third brake light, using your fingers stuff some felt around the brake light....rear deck rattle fixed. The only interior noise remaining is some occassional plastic creaks from around the radio/AC controls.

Certain resonant frequencies will cause rattles. Seems to depend in part on the volume and particular piece of music.
