Design cues for G37 Sedan

Just got my new Slate Blue G37 Sedan, not only because it's exciting to drive, but so beautiful to look at. For me the high point of car design produced the Sports Saloons of the post-war period... 1950's and 60's Maseratis, Lancias, Bristols and Jags, the insanely lovely Aston Martins up until the DB4 Zagato; then there's the Fiat 8V, also bodied by Zagato, the Ferrari berlinettas and Cisitalias, along with many other Italian and British cars of that vintage. Does anyone else see those influences in the new G37, especially the sedan with it's long hood, muscular fenders but always fluid lines, relatively upright greenhouse tucked well back and ending in that short deck? I was surprised to read that Infiniti's chief designer, Shiro Nakamura, was influenced by American muscle cars as a younger man, because my G sedan looks wonderfully vintage European to me, albeit in a modern interpretation. That elegance even carries inside, especially with my wood and charcoal leather: the analogue clock, the jewel-like details, the restrained white on black guages... they could almost be Jaeger! Anyone care to weigh in on this? I love art, love beautiful things... love my G sedan!!
