good gas mileage recent trip
just got back from a trip to see Yankees v. Red sox in the Bronx NY This was my first major trip so I was interested in how it would handle on Highway miles
Charleston SC to Staten Is. NY
Northbound speeds around posted limits it gave me 430 miles to tank and an
AVG 25.1 MPG night driving and clear
Southbound lots of traffic (slower speeds) gave me 460 miles to tank and an AVG 26.1 MPG afternoon, evening, and night driving and heavy rain torrential at times
1)Which leads me to my next issue driving down rain soaked I95 in the down pour I feel a drop land on my leg ...thinking I am going crazy i feel another so I stop at a gas station and find rain somehow seeped in the car and was dripping from an area behind cover near e-brake. opened hood and moon roof to see if anything was clogged and nothing dried it out and rechecked when I got home. it was a little damp... any ideas?
2) car gets a little squirrelly on rain soaked highways running dunlap sport maxxs only did it in SC so not sure if it was fatigue or pavement or a combination of all. ideas?

was really impressed by this.

I took a recent trip to OKC and I knocked down 26.8 miles per gallon on my 2010 G Sedan. I was markedly impressed. I did put 93 octane in on the way there but on the way back, the best grade I was able to get was 91. MPG actually went down by a point on the way back with the lower grade gas to 25.8.
I'm not sure what the reasoning for that would be...possibly crappy gas?

Dont really get the lower octane on the west coast.. i went to Arizona to pick up motorcycle last year an found no 93 octane until I got to AR/TN just 89 &91. Weird!
On a recent trip form CT to NJ I averaged 30.3 mpg doing between 70-75 and using crusie control. I wish I took a photo to prove it but the camera was in the trunk and forgot I had a camera on my phone duh
....I couldn't believe it the whole way down to NJ I kept checking the mpg average because I was using the cruise control and it kept getting closer to 30 and then went to 30.3 I was amazed!
Even my wife couldn't believe it....HAHA

Newbee alert! https://www.myg37.com/forums/images/smilies/hello.gif been watching this site for a while, but never pitched in to let know my opinions. Finally I think its time. Coming from a 2007 Maxima, mpg for my 09 G37 sedan has always been better. The day I bought the car (Used with 18K), drove from Dallas to San Antonio and got 31MPG, I am surprised, 3.7L, 330Hp and I still get great mileage. Never managed to get more than 26 on Maxima and this is all conservative driving of course, but I maintain 70mph average. I drive a lot between Houston and Dallas and I get 26-27 with aggressive driving. Most recent Dallas to Houston trip was, with no stops and 80mph AVG and still made 27MPG. 7AT does help for the mileage https://www.myg37.com/forums/images/smilies/bowdown.gif

Hi neighbor! That is excellent avg mpg. I also did a road trip from NC to PA back in early Sept. and averaged 28mpg. I used cruise control as much as possible and I believe that really helps.
PS: I use to reset my avg mpg meter with every fill-up but have not since this trip. I am still averaging 24mpg and that is total city driving. Before the road trip, I was only averaging 17mpg. Can't figure that one out.
