BERK INSTALL...$500 O2 Sensor....

Just had my Berks HFC's installed about a week ago, it tripped SES light for Bank 1 Sensor 1, the sensor on the upper part of the manifold on the passenger side. So I have read many post on this issue and being proactive and if a sensor broke in the cat. I bought one at the dealer for 250.00 before the install. But of course the upper one is the one that failed...SO I go into the dealership to buy the proper o2 / AF sensor and got sticker shock 573.00...464.79 after a discount he gave me as if I was a jobber...

Just a slight rant...I found one online for 340 shipped...

Yuck. The Bosch ones at AutoZone etc. should work too, and they are much, much cheaper!

Thanks I will check autozone....Hey Kenny the installer is doing me right he is deducting the amount of the o2 sensor from my final bill...The car is getting BC Coilovers, SPC Front & Rear Camber Kit, Sway bars, strut tower. So its no cost to me in the end. I was told that these things are very sensitive to vibration. I was going to have the dealership install the HFC's they told 800.00 just for labor, and the fact that they wanted to drop the motor out of the car to do the install. Now mind you they were replacing my transmission under warranty and I though since they were pulling the tranny out they could just install HFC's for basically nothing...but 800 is what they told me...

Damn, $800 for labor for the cats? That's f'in robbery. You don't have to drop the goddamned motor to do it. I did them on one of this sites members 09 Coupe last summer for $160. Only took me 3 hours and that's with motor and trans in the car. And no 02's were harmed, and no CEL. That's crazy!

But they do have to charge you some labor even though the trans is out. The trans isn't really in the way of the cats at all. But $800 is *** rape, dry!

DJ I found a local shop MPowered in Cary NC to do them for 200 out the door, I was not about to pay 800 for HFC's....Also the CEL stop tripping for some reason before I could have it installed...
