This sucks because i only had it for 4000 miles and I ran into a giant tree branch in the middle of the highway going about 60 MPH.

Needless to say the front grill is messed up, but the bumper not so much. There is a crack in the bumper right where it meets the grill.

I am hoping the factory lip kit will cover it up. Can some people with the factory installed lip kit help me out by taking a ground level picture of it installed? I tried to search for some good quality pics, but none at the right angle, or they are far away. The damage is on the passenger side btw.

Also, to the people that know about body related stuff, is it ok to install a lip kit on a damaged bumper? Because I don't really want to spend the money on a brand new bumper this early in the stage.

Any information would be of great help and thanks. I will try and get some pictures up by thursday so maybe you guys can help me judge it better.

 

I had this question a few months ago~~ and i believe the answer is it really depends on the damage. You can always get it worked on so the surface is smooth enough for the adhesive..

 

I'm on the road right now, so I can't post any pics. But after installing the lower lip kit on a G37xS, I doubt the lip lit will do the job of covering your damaged bumper. It needs a solid surface to attach the bottom fastners to and it sounds like your bumper is actually split at the lower intake opening. The upper part of the lip does not extend into this area and the damage will remain apparent.
