NB here ! Please help !

Just recieved 2010 G37 Journey sport.
Have a few questions:

What supposed to be here where is black arrow?

Is license plate lights have some much space and no covering? Red arrow

The license plate lights are normal, all of them have that open space. Ill check tomarow if my spare tire kit is like that too.

I have the same opening by the tag lights.
I also have nothing in the spot where your black arrow is pointing, just a 2-3/4" by 4-1/2" by 1/2" deep depression.
