Stealership Vent!

>>LAZY PEOPLE CAN JUMP DOWN TO THE CLIFF NOTES CUZ THIS IS KINDA LONG<<

Heres the back story:

My lease was up on my 08 G Sedan so I went into the dealership 2 weeks ago and closed a sweet deal on a 10 G Sedan Sport. I wanted the Aero Package but no cars in CA had black/black, Navi, 6MT w/ Aero Package. So, we agreed to order the front chin spoiler separately. I got the call from the dealer yesterday that the part was in (2 week wait time btw, I'm guessing they forgot and ordered the part last week when I called to follow up, but thats another story) and made an appointment for today. Got to the dealer, pulled in to service and I get approached (notice i didnt say greeted) by a service advisor. I tell her what i was there for and the first thing out of her mouth was, "we dont have loan cars" which i didnt need anyway, and then she says "the car wont be done til 4" which once again did not matter. Its almost as if she was trying to get rid of me.

Anyway, 4 comes around and i have to end up calling them to follow up. They say the car will be ready in 20 and that i should just head over, so i do. I get to the dealer and the service advisor ***** tells me that the part doesnt fit. We go back to the tech area and it turns out that they ordered the front chin spoiler for the journey bumper and instead of realizing that it did not fit and that it was the wrong part, they proceeded to make it fit by drilling holes into my bumper. Yes, drilling HOLES IN MY BUMPER. Then they try to tell me that maybe they dont make a shin spoiler for my car and that I might have thought that a spoiler was available due to the different look of the front bumper. I was so pissed i ended up using some profanity when expressing my frustration. The advisor then asks me why i have to cuss. Look, I understand that cuss words are offensive, and i really only use it when necessary, but she said it in such a way that made me feel like i was over-reacting. maybe i was, but its a 2 week old car dammit! and i have freaking holes in the damn car! Of course manager was not available so they ended up putting me in a loan car and figuring it out on monday. F*ck.

It took the sales person, the parts manager, the service advisor, and the technician to all miss the error and not only until they had already f*cked up the car did I, the customer have to explain what had happened to the "certified" infiniti service advisors and technicians.

P.S. got the G37 sedan w/ 7AT. Its horrible! goodness, the car doesnt know what gear it needs to be in. It searches and searches and theres a terrible lag. Glad i got the 6MT, completely different car!

>>LAZY PEOPLE STOP HERE<<

Got a new G37 S 2 weeks ago
Wanted Aero Pack but was not avail. so ordered front chin spoiler only
Waited 2 weeks for "backordered" part
Dealer ended up ordering chin spoiler for journey bumpers
Didn't fit so they tried to make it fit by DRILLING HOLES IN MY F*CKING 2-WEEK OLD BUMPER
Dealer put me in a loaner and will pick up the mess monday morning

In conclusion, f*ck.

Dealer in Question: Cerritos Infiniti, Cerritos CA. Great Sales Staff. Loved my salesperson, sales manager, and finance dude. Service is obviously sh*t. Buy your car there, but service it some place else.

When I went to Cerritos, all I wanted was the new iPod connection that kept unplugging. (TSB) They gave me such a hassle, they tried to fix the part until I told them about the TSB, they finally gave in and gave me a new cable. All that BS, for what, they just gave me a new cable anyways!

I dont get it, when there is a TSB, doesnt the manufacturer pay them anyways, WHY THE FREAKING HASSLE!

face it incompetence is rampant. you have to explicitly state what you want and don't want done these days. it's a shame.

Sorry to hear about the trouble. The good news is that the holes will likely be covered up by the new (correct) lip.

The 7AT is great for me...I'm not sure why the loaner is searching and lagging, etc.

Loaner's probably been filled w/ 86 octane ethanol, & driven a hundred different ways hence the "confusion". My 7AT seems to be working just fine, not as decisive as my 07s 5AT but still pretty good.

OP sorry to hear about all that Bull$hit, like mentioned, hopefully the holes will indeed be hidden once they get their $hit staight

Sorry to hear they pulled this stunt on your car. That does sound..inept.

As for the 7AT though, I have G37x Coupe and IMO it's fine. Like someone else said the loaner has probably been through the wringer, filled with cheap gas and whatever else.

lol...I feel your pain. I picked my new G up a week ago and was specific with my salesperson, the finance guy, AND the manager that I didn't want the front plate bracket mounted on the car. They even took it out of the trunk to make sure nobody found and installed it. The day before I picked it up, the service tech saw it was missing, and got a new one and drilled it right into the bumper. After my meltdown at the dealership I told them thanks, but that they could keep the car and I will just get one somewhere else. They were quick to order me a new bumper. I recommend you get them to do the same.

Also, the sales guy told me they use regular 87 octane fuel in the loaner cars and that they run like crap.

I agree that the 7AT is a completely different car than the 6MT. Its completely better. I no longer have to feel as though I am shifting with a vibrator, the thrashiness of the engine at high revs is largely gone, and my tranny has no wear items (i.e. clutch) that aren't covered under warranty....

Well my plan is to have the dealership install a brand new bumper for me. I don't feel that filling the holes or covering the holes with the new lip would suffice. I want my car exactly the way I brought it in without any additional speed holes.
