Ridiculous MPG with city driving, could something be off?
I have 3200 miles on my G and i've consistently gotten around 11 MPG in city driving, mostly being quite conservative and using D mode. My rep told me the car would improve the MPG at the 3000 miles mark but it has actually gotten worse.. The G is rated at 17 MPG. How is it possible for me to get 50% less? I cannot imagine cities are that different from one another. Montreal has the std stops and lights that all cities have and it's not hilly or anything.
I get 26 MPG on the highway. Is there anything mechanical or electronic that could affect the city fuel economy at all? It has been a real disappointment to me that the car is so bad in that aspect. It's not like i can't afford the fuel but I feel like it's burning more than it should.

I only do city driving, rarely on the highway. I am sitting at 12.6 mpg on the cars computer! I have a lead foot, but yeah city driving is not the best for mpg. At least i didn't get hit with the gas guzzler tax! Just lie to the epa please! Last fill up i got 206 miles out of a full tank. Sad, but at least my car hauls azz

But there could be other factors too. What brand gas are you using? What grade? Things like this are so random, it's hard to give any kind of universal advice.
yes I changed the oil at 3000km as per the manual. I'm due for another one in about a month.
I am using Shell V-Power. I realize a lot of factors affect MPG, but 50% higher than rated seems like a stretch..

If you're doing a lot of stop/go traffic then that's not totally unrealistic. I know the island of Montreal well and it's become more congested than ever so if you spend a good portion of your time idling in traffic that's not good. Your highway mileage seems good so I would not suspect a problem.

My observations of pure stop & go, low speed driving, especially if you're doing short trips when the engine really never gets warm, is that the MPG can be as bad as you're reporting.
The engine/tranny combo is just not very efficient in this mode of driving, and the only suggestion I might give is to use the instantaneous MPG display as feedback to your driving habits. Doing this will probably improve your results 10-30%, but at the potential expense of not enjoying the car as much. In order to get the best MPG, the hypermilers recommend focusing on minimizing use of the brakes, not so much minimizing use of the throttle. Of course, in order to avoid using the brakes, you can't punch the gas and be first to the red light either

The length of your city trips affects your mileage dramatically; if your city trips are less than 5 miles each, your engine does not reach its optimal operating temperature, and the gas mileage will be worse.
Something is indeed seriously wrong. I am also in Canada and my first suggestion would be to check that your "mpg" readout is actually in "mpg". As we are in a metric country, mine was set (by the dealer?) for litres/100 Km. Your figure of 12.6 would be a reasonable city number for L/100Km. I believe you can select mpg or metric in your settings for the trip computer. Check your owner's manual for instructions. If that isn't the problem, then have your car checked. I have consistently got 21 - 23 mpg using premium fuel and driving exclusively in Edmonton. I recently recorded 33-34 mpg on a road trip to Kimberley, BC. Your mileage, if it really is 11 mpg, is astoundingly low.
Its like ~21 mph. I dont remember exactly off hand, I like to haul butt around town though. My commute is like 2 miles from home to work so that may be it. I get there quick! car runs like a champ though. no issues
