Things I love about my 2010 G37 Sedan ... :)

I love my 2010 G37xS sedan. Previously I had a 2008 G35xS which I also loved, and it has made me more aware of the differences between them, and the things that I really like with the 2010! So after only 9 days ... here are some of the things I am really enjoying about the car:

>> Very quick and solid shifts with paddle shifters - faster response than in my 2008 - and without having to battle and out-think the torque converter

>> Good fuel economy considering the power and performance - 21 mpg so far

>> When in D, and I pull on the paddle shifter to downshift, the transmission shifts from 7th directly to 5th gear automatically skipping 6th (the difference between 6th and 7th is so small - I would be downshifting twice to get to 5th anyway - so I really enjoy this feature! - thanks Infiniti!!!)

>> 7-speed AT: I love having all those gears to play with and exploit with the paddle shifters. The transmission downshifts automatically too with enough throttle input and is not shy about downshifting a few gears without hanging up on any gears in between.

>> Very smooth ride balanced with great handling.

>> Sonar sensor that beeps at me to let me know I am damn close to hitting something behind me! A nice supplement to the back-up camera when parallel parking.

>> Revised silver metal interior trim that gives-off a more luxurious feel

>> The new revised sport package front fascia ... fog lights placed down below look really hot with those huge mock air scoops.

What do you love about your G?

Here's my quick list:

>Power - this is the most powerful car I've ever owned

>Exhaust sound

>No Nav nag. Don't need to hit "enter" to boot up Nav (just comes up very quickly with the hard drive)

>Album art in display when using iPod

>Exterior body lines

>Streaming Bluetooth

I just got my '10 sedan, so don't know about the enter thing, but must say that the voice recognition and navigation is hella slick. Especially if you compare it to Audi's nav. Last I saw it that thing was the biggest POS ever. AFAIK, we have the best, most intuitive controls out there right now. Very uncluttered, wonderful interface for all controls. I love it.

I like spanking most 4-6-8cyl 2dr sports cars out there in my stock 6cyl sedan with car seats in the back.

Id say a low 13 second car is pretty quick by my standards. A few N/A mods and sticky tires and this car can break into the high 12's.

had my g37x for 2 months now

i love:
the sleek lines and the look of luxury with a subtle aggressive stance
the amenities - camera/sonar/ipod/memory seats/blutooth
the power!
the comfort and the way the non-sports seats gently hold my buttocks

I consider it the best bang for the buck for an entry level sport sedan. Aside from the good looks, power, handling and content, it is also a bit bigger/roomer then most in its class.

If only it doesn't lock you out when the vehicle is moving.

dragstrip says it's pretty quick....owners of modded out 4's, 6's, and 8's were not too pleased to see my tail lights all night. Maybe it's just the driver. LoL

Seriously though....
I love the sexy exterior lines, the interior appointments & ergonomics, road feel, controls, and did I mention it's way more than just zippie...

4 months into it I am now discovering the joys of paddle shifting. When on local roads and staying within the speed limits I just turn it to DS mode and use the shifters, switch off the radio and just listen to the engine and exhaust notes. Its a sweet symphony. This is over and above what the OP said, I have to say you put down the list very well, I made a similar move, mine was a G35x though and I would add the steering feel and responsiveness from X to xS is quite different, I prefer the xS.

Coming from an '04 G35X, all of the small things that were wrong are fixed. Love the 7AT and more hp. Definitely the best bang for the buck IMO.

Low 13's? LOL, not unless you're modded.

Motor Trend Magazine tested both a 2009 G37S and a G37xS and found the following:

About a 2009 G37 S: "Zero to 60 now takes only 5.0 sec, with the quarter-mile obliterated in just 13.5 at 105.3 mph."

About the 2009 G37xS: "The G37x S was nearly half a second slower to 60 mph and through the quarter mile than the G37 S, hitting 60 in 5.4 sec and tripping the lights at 13.9 sec at 100.5 mph."

That's pretty quick. Either way - what else delivers this level of performance at this price point?

Well, let's not go overboard! 13.5 - 13.8, low 13's with a lot of bolt ons.
