Seriously? 1000 miles?

and less than 2 months And my SES light is on? Is there some 1000 mile check up that I need to do that automatically turns on the SES light?

ses comes on when there is an emissions problem on your car. common fix is to tighten your gas cap but if you have not filled up recently, just take it to the dealer

Believe me, that is the first thing I checked. I took it off, put it back on, and drove for bit to see if it would reset. No luck yet. I'm gonna give it a bit longer and if it doesn't go off in the next day, I'll be bringing it in.

I had the same problem at about 250 miles. I checked my gas cap - no luck. I filled up again the next day and put the cap on nicely. the light finally went off a little over 100 miles later. I couldn't believe it took that long.

Could always go over to Autozone/Advanced Auto and have them check your CEL with their code reader if you're curious.

Yeah, might want to take it to an autostore to check the code for free. If it's just a gas cap they can clear it. Otherwise you can take it in for warranty service.

Some dealerships might charge you (I'm not saying Infiniti does this, but I had a dealership from my previous car tell me this) if you take it in for warranty service and it turns out to be a loose gas cap.

Well, I'm sure some parts on some Gs are going to be defective. Shmidt happens. That's why we get warranties.

I had mine come on last year. It was on for a little over a week. I broke down and made an appointment to get it looked at. It cleared the next day, so I ended up cancelling the appointment.
