How come there's no back window wiper?

I've always wondered why there isn't one. For a car at this price i'd expect that it would have one. I find them very practical. Anyone know a reason why? Is it something i could even add on?

I've never seen a rear wiper on a car of any sort. An SUV, yes, but a car... no.

Actually I think the EVO has rear wiper.

But a rear wiper on a G sedan would look silly IMO.

Well they need to invent a non-ugly wiper then. I hate having rain in my view. Perhaps I should hire someone to stand on my roof and wipe my window while I drive.

If they came with one, everyone would be removing them.

I've asked myself this also, there are many sedans with them and infiniti sedans that have had them before. But maybe it's a U.S. thing since most of the ones I've seen have been on the japanese versions only and they removed them on the U.S. versions. Headlight washers, rear wipers, extra brake lights...just some of the other things that appear on non U.S. models more often. But on the upside the price is usually cheaper in the U.S.

FYI: If you want the water to run off a little faster the RainX windshield application thing actually does help a bit.

Do you need one?

My RSX came wiht one and one of the first mods I did was removing it. They are ugly and not really necessary.

Interesting that you want a rear wiper ADDED to the G37 sedan when it's a popular mod for the 350Z owners to DELETE the OEM wiper that comes standard.

It's just another thing that can break, and IMO they're practically worthless. My wife's SUV has one, and we rarely use it.

It would be a nice option though for some of us ...coming from a snow state with lake effect it's not rain i want to take off when falling as much as I like to remove snow when falling. Maybe just an add on option on just the X models ..too much to ask I guess because I would throw in a heated steering wheel while I was at it if they had it

heated steering wheel would be nice when its cold. However I only rain-x my front/side windows and its still clear in the back when driving. It could be useful pushing snow but you have to brush the rest, why no the back too. Plus as a Cleveland native...I know everyone warms up their cars prior so its not difficult brushing the ice/snow.

Steering wheel YES, back wiper NO.
