How come there's no back window wiper?

I think a few hatches still have them today though. But now the industry standard seems backwards to me. It seems cars with near- vertical rear windows like SUVs or even the Mazda 3 would be less in need of a rear wiper. But those are the cars that are likely to have them.

heated steering wheel would be nice when its cold. However I only rain-x my front/side windows and its still clear in the back when driving. It could be useful pushing snow but you have to brush the rest, why no the back too. Plus as a Cleveland native...I know everyone warms up their cars prior so its not difficult brushing the ice/snow.
Steering wheel YES, back wiper NO.

Looks like another example of the vertical hatch window with the rear wiper I was talking about. With a vertical window you'd think the water would just fall off -- or it would not get as much on it in the first place . I guess with the sedan style angled windows it's easier to accelerate and have the water roll off.

From what I've observed, most of the rear wipers come on cars that have a hatch or rear trunk that swings upward...(i.e. civic hatchbacks, Integras...) I think if the rear window moves with the trunk, there's usually a wiper. If the trunk can open without the rear window moving too, then the wiper isn't there.
This is just what I've gathered. I'm sure there are exceptions but for the most part this holds true.

Actually, when i overtake people, I love looking at their faces in the rear view mirror.
For example, today i was getting on to the highway, this girl in her 20s driving a TL started speeding as she knew my ramp was ending and wanted to get on to the highway. So i slowly applied the brakes, and let her pass... NOT... I floored my baby, got in front of her, looked in my rearview mirror, saw her shaking her head, and LAUGHED MY A** OFF!!!
But if the G had rear wipers, i would take them off at the dealership before i even got in the car. It has that smooth look on the back from the trunk to the rear glass. Why ruin it.
