Mods for 2010 G37 S Sedan

What are you guys/girls doing? I just turned in my 05 Coupe off a lease and leased an 010 G37 S Sedan. I had to have it shipped up to MA from South Carolina b/c everyone is so afraid to sell a RWD car now...sad...but anyway.

Stillen is saying nada on Sway Bars...and I have yet to see any reviews on say the Injen or Stillen Short Ram CAI and nothing on the exhausts. I was spoiled with my Coupe b/c everything was already available.

I already ordered the OEM style spoiler, HOEN Fog Lights (dealer would not install b/c they are not DOT ha ha so I hope this is not a bumper removal nightmare), and I am trying to find Sway Bars, a good sounding relialbe dry filter short ram CAI, and "maybe" an exhaust. I loved the stillen exhaust on my Coupe...but I want to hear some sounds clips of both the CAI and exhaust first.

Any help or direction would be great, thanks.

So far I've done...sub/amp, tint, clearbra, & Tanabe axleback. I'd like to do rims and springs/coilovers as the final piece of the puzzle. I thought about adding some real fogs...just not sure at this point.

Did the Clear Bra on my 05 Coupe...more problems than it was worth IMHO, Doing the Tint and Hardwire of V1 this week I hope, I am fine w/the OEM sounds ha ha, I love the 05-06 Coupe 19s so I am all set there, and the Sway Bars along w/the Coupe Rims/Tires add enough to the handling for me...especially where mine is a lease...

Have you looked into the CAIs yet?

Do you like the Tanabe Exhaust?

I do like the Tanabe. Could be a tab louder, but sounds great and the tips look great on the rear. It's a simple install as well. At some point I may go with a full cat-back.

I'm not going cai with the G. With my Maxima and 04 coupe, I learned that simple bolt ons really don't do much for the G and there's usually a tradeoff. You might want to try the Stillen Gen 2 intake. Comes with heat shields that replace the stock airbox.

I have a '10 G37xS. I have a Stillen cat back on it. Zero fitment issues whatsoever. Same part number for 07+ g35 / 09+ g37 sedans. Just something to consider.

suspension mods for '10 sedans?

Does anyone know if the suspension mods (springs, c/o) for the '07-09 G sedans still work for the '10s?

Also what about aftermarket spoilers? Did the shape of the trunk change at all on the '10s?

OK - what does that mean everyone is afraid to sell a RWD car - the Northeast dealers are only stocking AWD cars these days? That totally sucks!!

Here in CA it is all but impossible to even find an AWD car when it is a shared model with RWD.

Yes, in the North East they are AFRAID to sell RWD G's now. You MIGHT find one 6 Spd RWD sport at a dealer...that's it. It's been that way since about 2 years into the AWD G35s so even b/f the G37 came out. Sad I know.

I emailed Stillen b/f I got rid of my 05 Coupe and same with Crawford and Moterdyne...none of my parts would fit off my coupe...but I also emailed stillen again yesterday and they said they have ZERO parts for the 2010 G37 sedans....even though their site says the short ram CAI fits the 2010s I believe.

Also of note...if you go on their site and use the 09 G37 Sedan model as your car of choice only the Hotchkis sway bars are listed...No Stillen Branded ones...Worse, if you plug in an 08 for your model year there are no suspension mods listed at all and no CAIs either and No Exhausts...

So I am all confused as to what the hell will fit my car and what won't. lol

07-2010

all suspension parts are the same. (only spring rates have changed; g35 is lighter than g37)

G37 Coupe suspenison can also work on sedans.

just cause you have a 2010 doesn't mean anything, only the exteior parts have been redesigned.

I already installed Hotchkis sways and plan on getting Tanabe Pro coils and wheels in the next couple of months along with Camber kit.

All these parts are universal with the coupe and 07+ sedan

forgot... Intakes are also universal from 07-2010 sedans, including coupes
but exhaust are different with coupes and sedans.

AWESOME man...thanks...That's what Forums are all about!!! Much Appreciated.

So outside of the Exhaust, all are interchangeable even b/t Coupe and Sedan and All Sedan to Sedan and Coupe to Coupe parts from 07G37 to 010G37 are good to go swap wise. Nice.

Couple of Follow UPs...

Does Stillen make sways for these cars? Or is Hotckis the only option?

How do you like the Hotckis and do you have them on the stiffest adjusted setting? Do you notice a difference? I feel my 010 Sedan...even in S trim...has that "body roll" at speed when changing lanes while accelerating and I hate that...My 05 Coupe with the Stillen sways was just a dream to drive...and I had both the front and rear adjusted on the stiffest setting.

Are you doing a CAI? Are they worth it for sound, if not any power/breathing?

What about Exhausts?

go with hotchkis sways.. I have them and enjoy every turn with them. Fronts are not adjustable and the rears I have on med. Its a perfect setting for street. Body roll is almost all gone, springs or coils will take care of the rest. But man.. Car handles better than my coupe and I also had stillen sways.

As a first mod skip the intake. drop ins are good for now. For this car focus more on suspension and looks. Engine Performance should be last.

stillen and hotchkis are the only brands out right now. Stillen sways are smaller in diameter, hotchkis are larger and are hollow.

exhaust didn't chane at all for the sedans. since basically thats all was done to the 3.5 motor was bored out from 3.5 to 3.7 and added all this new technology to the motor. So all the piping stood the same.

since your a sport. adding sways and having stiffer suspension, you'll forget about how well your coupe handled.

Thanks Man. I am going to order the Hotchkis right now...Do you have a preferred Vendor to get them from?

I kept my Coupe 19s...so they are on here with brand new Pole Position Bridgestones...Just the Rim upgrade from 18s to 19s made a difference and lowered the car about 1/2" or so...maybe even 3/4" but I can't remember. Also, the Weight...as I threw each tire/rim on a scale...is the same if not a C-Hair less w/the 19s so Win-Win for Looks, Handling, and unsprung weight.

Are you talking Drop Ins as in Drop in Filters? If so, which kind and are they dry? On my Coupe I had the Crawford V Upper, Motordyne Lower, into a Short Ram CAI with Stillen filter/box...and that alone was pretty nuts for sound under load and acceleration....and then I added the Stillen exhaust and the extra throatyness of it was perfect....
