Is the Technology package worth it?

I just wanted to get an idea form people that have the Tech package to see what they think of it and if they feel it's worth the money and if they actually use the features of the package often?

If you use cruise control a lot, maybe it's worth it. I don't think AFS is that worth it though.

I never use cruise control... for me personally, it wasn't worth it. It's all about what you feel you need when you drive.

+1 on the AFS. It seems more gimmicky then anything. The ICC is nice, but I rarely use it. If I had to it over again, I'm not sure I would really care whether the tech package was on my car.

I have it, but only cause I got a deal on a particular car. if I had to actually pay for it? Not in a million years.

I love it. It is pretty expensive considering the options in it, but so are the premium and the navigation packages. I personally wouldn't be without it.

Those that have it, typically love it, and would get it again. Those that don't have it say it is a waste of money.

I have it, love it, and would get it again. Love the AFS.

I also ordered it, because I'm a nerd. But, be aware that the 2010 Tech package does NOT include AFS on the G37, at least not in the US. It's one of the features that they silently dropped in the refresh.

Ahh, good to know! That sucks though. That is one my favorite features. I lucked out with an 09.

^+1 I agree...I love the AFS. I understand that it was a costly addition from a production viewpoint but such a nice touch.

And IMO the ICC is an absolutely essential tool. I use it all the time for relaxing highway commutes

I didn't find AFS or ICC worth the $1100 price tag. The test drive car had ICC and I didn't find it to be something I would use that often.

Yeah, especially as I distinctly remember reading in an earlier press release (which I now can't find, of course) that this feature would be retained. I think it even suggested it might be a standard feature. Oh well, I guess my first mod will be to strap a search light to the bonnet

I got the premium & nav, no tech. You still have cruise control without it, just not the Intelligent kind. But I think I've only turned on cruise control 3 times in 5 months of ownership. Don't get much chance to use it on the crowded highways around here, unless I go on a long trip or something.

The other things I don't care about really.

Having said that, I wasn't really all that interested in the Nav + Premium packages either, I just wanted the sunroof (needs the premium) and the 6MT and I got a good deal on what was available in a color I liked. But now that I have all of that stuff, I'm glad I got them. I missed them when I had a loaner car -- the little things really do make a huge difference.

I've got the tech package in my vert - I wouldn't necessarily buy the tech package. The improved climate system is good but I rarely use the adaptive cruise control - I tend to drop out of cruise anywhere near traffic and basic cruise works for me. If I had a choice between tech and sport for example, I'd take sport as a noticeable change in the car. Nav is a big change over base as is premium, tech isn't that noticeable.
