Starting Car up and Driving?
With pretty much any car they say the most engine wear occurs during the first few minutes of a cold start before it reaches operating temperature. The oil is thicker and not everything is getting lubricated as well as it could be.
That said I usually let it sit for about 30 seconds like the manual said, and I try to keep the RPMs low (2K-3K) until the engine is at normal operating temperature. I suppose that's easier to do with a manual trans (or "manual mode" on the automatic.) My thinking is that hard acceleration and high revving would be more harmful than speed. But I could be wrong about that.
