2010 G37S Sedan OB/Stone pics

Traded my 08 6MT coupe for a 2010 7AT sedan. Just got done detailing this weekend. Briefly, detailing was white pad w/ menzerna FPII and then Zaino Z5 Pro.

See pics. Of particular interest is the new Stone interior. What was black is now grey.

Nice ride...but why don't they just keep the dash in black?

Weird, right?? I thought the same thing. I also had a stone coupe before:

In person, though, (and actually now that I look, almost in pictures, too!) the new dark grey/stone looks better than the black/stone, IMO. More classy.

It did look weird to me at first, though, for sure!

WOW!! Stunning!!! Congratulations on the new ride!

You are right, the stone leather does look more harmonized and classier with grey than with black. How do you like the ride quality of sport package so far?

Nice ride man! Personally I like the old stone interior more (though I am a bit biased haha).

anyone know what the red paint dots on the tires are for? My car came with them as well, never knew what the purpose of them was for... guessing for some landmark during the build, but dont know for sure...

one dot is the low spot on the bead and the other dot is the light spot on the tire. You match them up with similar marks on the rim to get the best balance w/least weight.

This explains it pretty well: Tire Tech Information - Match Mounting to Enhance Tire & Wheel Uniformity

Cliff's Notes: It's for match mounting. That is, the wheel and the tire is balanced separately to identify the high point of the wheel and low point of the tire for matching them up the best way possible, which minimizes use of wheel weights.

This all goes out the window when you replace the tires and the guy in the shop throws a new set on there and grossly balances them to the nearest 15-20 grams or so.

OP: Sorry to thread hijack. Beautiful interior!

Great pics! Looks great! I do like how they smoothed out the head & tail lamps on the 2010. No longer has that section that juts out.

Love it. It is just a bit more forgiving than my G37 coupe was .. I think it is the 18" wheels vs. my coupe's 19" wheels. But I don't think it is giving much up in handling prowess. The tire widths front/rear are the same staggered set up as my coupe had and the suspension basically feels the same.

The new computer (I have the navigation package) is much higher resolution in all areas and displays album covers from my iPod. The response time is slower than my old coupe, probably due to the higher resolution graphics. One welcome deletion is the stupid legal agreement on the Navi. It is completely gone, the navi just comes up with the map now. It still has moving vehicle lock-outs, so boo, but at least I don't have to press OK every time I drive my car.

Some cheap outs compared to my last G37:
1. Plastic tire valve covers in the '10 vs. metal in the '08
2. Compass deleted from mirror
3. Power lumbar gone from driver's seat, replaced with a lever like my old 2000 Mitsubishi Galant.

So far I'm happy with the car. I loved my 6MT but that clutch is absolute garbage in these cars. The 7AT is not quite as involving but no more tractor clutch!

I had an '07 G35S Blue Slate/Stone. I originally wanted BS/Graphite, but they had the stone interior on the lot and the price is right. When I went in to look at the '10 G37xS that I bought, it was BS/Stone as well and at first both me and the sales guy could swear the grey looked more brown, and I didn't like it. But after looking at it again, I have no idea what the two of us were smoking because it's definitely grey, and I think the color flow works much nicer than the black with stone in the '07.

The stone on my '07 really grew on me, so much so that when I looked at the '10, I knew right away I wanted stone again.

Looks great. The 10 is a good refresh. Should be good enough until the next gen comes out (i'd guess as a 2012).

Car looks great, I like the new interior color combo seems to class it up a bit. The new front end is looking pretty nice, took awhile to get used to it but I think it's an improvement.
How do you like the S wheels compared to the previous split-spoke 18" S wheels on 07-09 G S Sedans? I definately think the 2010 17" stock wheels aren't an improvement, hard to say about the S wheels without seeing them in person, but I really liked the previous 18" S wheels.
Congrats on a great new G!

Are the '10 sport 18" wheels really different from the 09 18" wheels?

They look the same to me but my eyes are blurry from all the detailing

My bad, I believe those are the same as the 09s, I was referring to the 07-08 split spoke 18s. That wheel pick shows 'em off pretty well. Not sure if I like them better, but they're not bad at all Don't have any Infiniti dealers nearby and there's only a couple Gs in our town so I don't get to see many around
