hey yall just installed my stillen gen 3 intake on my 09 g37 sedan..and i kinda would like to see it sometimes throught the grille...cuz it does look pretty nice..and i was looking at this grille on ebay..but was wondering if it would be a good idea or not...due to the fact that its mesh grille and i wouldnt want bugs or small **** geting onto hte filters or too much rain getting to them..

The urethane shields will protect the filters.. we have a lot of guys running more open grilles..

the ebay version.. eeeeh.. up to you, I hope it's the quality you'd expect.. I guess it's always a gamble without a company backing it..

Thoughts on the intake after install?

I have the Gen3 intake in my 08 sedan. I personally prefer the hidden look behind the OEM grill. However, after I painted my grill black, it shows more due to the color contrast.. but it's very subtle which is the way I like it.

 

There are a couple coupes that went with the Autokits grille and you can see through it. I think it looks bad a$$ but do NOT get that Ebay grille as the fitment is ****.

 

oh ok thanks everyone..yeah i probably wont go with that ebay grille..it does look a little cheap. but yeah i also thought about painting the grille black.... but as far as the intake..it wasnt hard but it took some work and effort...good advice-- i rapped the area where the intake goes throught the cut out holes with self tape or double sided tape..and foam padds above thte a/c lines...so it wouldnt rub on the plastic from the core support or metal...and also not make any rattling. i love the sound..nice little growl..and power i can feel after install...but still gotta it for ecm to relearn. rpmsa re higher when pressing the accelorater. in all i love it.
