To Sport or not to Sport
I wanted a manual and sport so I went the the 6MT. As far as the Sport package is concerned it was the brakes, seats and VLSD that won me over.
Bodywork.....isn't really that important to me though it's nice to have some differentiation.
Suspension......would have been easy to change. Not a deciding factor.
VLSD....owning a 330hp car without some sort of LSD is a buzz kill.
Brakes.....I have warped the brakes on every car I've owned and I wasn't confident that the non-sport brakes would be up to snuff.
Seats.....not fun to be sliding around.
If by "$3 G's" you're referring to 2010 pricing, keep in mind that for 2010 the premium package is included and there's much more to the car as far as non-sport equipment than there was in 2009.

go with the sport.
it's more than just suspension.
plus the seats are better too. I hate the base journey seats...
sport package adds
VLSD
Sport Seats
Paddle Shifters
Upgraded Suspension
Upgraded Wheels
Better looking Bumper
More aggressive shift timing
Bigger Brakes
i mean you don't hate what you have. you tend to hate what you don't.... ha ha all the other stuff you can still upgrade, there's just a lot of stuff you can't get outside that are a part of the sport package.

I would definitely go sport. Like everyone else has said, you just get more, and for 3 grand it's not that big of a deal for what you get IMO.
I regretted not waiting for the 08 G35xS sedan instead of jumping on the 07 G35x... but hey you live and learn.
And IMO I like the black on stone (gray). It isn't fully black, nor fully gray... it is a good contrast. After the black/black G35x, our new G37x coupe that is black/stone is much nice... maybe it's just because I got bored of black/black after a while haha.
