10 mpg!!!!

Maybe its that I haven't given the computer time to adjust or maybe its too new, but I'm averaging 10 MPG!!!! I'm going crazy!, I saw the thread on MPG and most people are getting around 17 18, im not slamming the accelerator every chance I get either. Truthfully it doesn't get above 3k Rev, and considering its a 9k revving engine that's good right? Am i doing something wrong? or do i just have to let time do its thing...

If you just got your car, then it's normal. It'll go up to the normal average after you "break it in".

When you refill your tank reset the computer and see what you get. Should be in the mid teens atleast.

Its going to stay at 10mpg for the rest of the time that you own the car! LOL jkjk

How many miles do you have on the car so far? Wait till its fully broken in before freaking out. Mine def got better gas mileage after I got about 1500 miles on the car, but then again I was never averaging 10. I think the lowest was around 14 or so when I first got it.

Our new 2009 G37X Sedan made 25 mpg (checked by calculation and not relying on the computer) from the showroom to western Kansas and back home running 69 to 70 MPH on 2 lanes with minimal wind. If your's is making 10 MPG then the car or you has a problem. If it is not you then I would suggest a visit to the Infiniti dealer.

Just give it a few hundred miles, should come up after a couple of tanks. At least mine did.

Oh and I averaged 28 mpg yesterday from San Diego up to Chino with the cruise control set at 70 mph the entire time I was amazed.

Stop and go in what I call a "semi-rural" suburb/bedroom community town I get about 18 to 19 mpg or so. I have about 2100 miles now (yes, still pretty new. ) so hopefully that gets you an idea. I don't know if it would be less in more urban stop and go traffic or not. As an aside I have 2009 G37x Coupe, and it is my daily driver. I'd probably have more miles but this is a pretty small town, so most of my driving if it's not for fun isn't all that far. That and I'm self employed, 80 percent of my work I do from home.

I do about 85% driving in downtown LA. I get about 15mpg. To get 10 you must be gunning it at every light.

Ditto, car will get better mpg when its broke in. Put Red Line the last oil change at 3750 and seems to have helped mpg. Best mpg 26, worst about 21.

I don't know, mine only has 700 miles on it but I have not seen it go below 21 mpg, that is with mixed driving, not using cruise control.

3,000 miles on the clock and I am getting 18-19 in suburban driving. I've done very little highway mileage. When I first had the car and endlessly sought out places to run it quickly I was getting sub-15 MPG. I am nursing it now (shifting from 3rd to 6th, gliding down hills, using the brakes rather than engine braking, etc) to get the 19 MPG. I have a highway trip today and will reset prior to that just to see what it does.

It'll improve with more miles. It almost has to! I get 17-18 with mostly city/suburb driving and that includes a few mins for it to warm in the mornings.
