What is that?

I searched and searched but could not find an answer. What the hell are those sensor looking things on the mufflers facing the rear wheels on the 2009 g37x? I want to switch mufflers and I just took a good look at the stock mufflers today.

Yup, used for vibration dampening. They are also used on other parts of the exhaust.

Great, that was a super quick answer, thanks a lot. So I can switch mufflers without worrying about the dampeners right? I am going to get the HKS Hi flow guys.

I have never seen them used on modified exhausts (cat back or axle back) so you should be OK.
