What to do?

Finally, my Blue Slate 6MT is here after a two month wait but the dealer just called and said someone scratched a 7 inch gash in the bumper getting it off truck. Dealer has ordered a complete bumper to have it fixed. I have not paid for this car yet and just have my 500 down to secure car. What should I do about this situation? I have not seen gash yet, heading to dealership tomorrow to take a look at damage and determine the cars fate. Any thoughts appreciated.

What are you other options? You waited all this time to pass it up now? IMO, let them fix it and take the car. Just be sure the color match is good before you finalize the deal.

If they are putting a new bumper on, I'd stick with the car...

I was in the same situation..damaged coming off of the truck. Difference was I discovered that the bumper had been repainted after I took delivery. Went back to the dealer a little bit pissed off and had them replace the bumper with a factory painted one off of another car on the lot. Got them to throw in a 3 year maintenance plan for selling me a brand new car with a not so brand new bumper. I'd stick with the car too.

Tell them to slap on a new bumper and make sure you check if the colors match perfectly... and just enjoy your G!! You'll forget about all that in no time.

If they were legit enough to actually tell you about it in advance I'd actually stick with them. Its hard to find a good dealer nowadays

swap the bumper from another car so it's not repainted and it's factory paint
