Can I find a G37S w/auto in the snow belt?

I have decided that I like the G37 more than the Lexus IS350, BMW 335i, and Audi A4 that I have driven.

The local dealerships here (Boston) mostly have G37X models, and they have the occasional G37S 6MT. I strongly prefer the ride of the G37S over the G37X, but I would like to get a G37S with an automatic so my wife can drive it if she needs to. I currently drive a Subaru WRX 5-speed.

What do you recommend as the best way to get one a G37S w/auto?

1. Have dealer locate? Can I make a purchase from my local Infiniti dealer and have them find the car for me and get it shipped to their dealership? If they have to search outside of Boston, how much would they charge?
2. Locate myself? Should I try to find it myself and handle the shipping myself? How much should shipping cost?
3. Factory order? Can I still a good price on the car and get the $2500 incentive by going this route?

Thanks in advance for your help

I just went through a similar process. I wanted a G37xS in Atlanta. No dealer in atlanta had an all wheel drive G37. They tried to locate one for me, but were having a hard time. They finally found one, but they could not find the color I wanted. I finally went to autotrader and looked up G37 that were less then 500 miles away. I called the dealer and told them I was ready to purchase if the price was right. Most dealers are willing to make a good deal if they have the car on the lot and do not have to get it from somewhere else. Made the purchase and asked how much it would be to ship it to atlanta. They quoted me $500, which was fine since the dealership was almost 500 miles away. Seemed like a good deal, they are supposed to overnight the paperwork to me, and I have to send it back and it will be on a truck. I asked them to send me pictures of the exact vehicle before all of this, to make sure it was in perfect condition. Also, asked them to see how many miles were on the vehicle. In my case, there was only 10 miles, the car had never even been test driven.

FYI: I do not think you can order a 2009 any longer and get the 2500 rebate. You would be ordering a 2010, which would not have the $2500 incentive with it.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the trip on AutoTrader. Since the process has already started for you, can you give me an update on how it ends up?

1. Have dealer locate? YES ABSOLUTELY Can I make a purchase from my local Infiniti dealer and have them find the car for me and get it shipped to their dealership? YUP 100% If they have to search outside of Boston, how much would they charge? THEY SHOULDNT CHARGE ANYTHING FOR THIS SERVICE
2. Locate myself? YOU CAN IF YOU WANT TO BUT LIKELY A LOT OF WORK Should I try to find it myself and handle the shipping myself? AUTO SHIPPING IS FAIRLY SIMPLE BUT USE A REPUTABLE SOURCE How much should shipping cost? SHIPPING RATES DEPEND ON DISTANCE
3. Factory order? CERTAINLY AN OPTION Can I still a good price on the car and get the $2500 incentive by going this route? SORRY DONT KNOW BUT YOUR DEALER SHOULD BE ABLE TO ASSIST HERE

Thanks in advance for your help

I will definately let you know how things work out. Hopefully if everything goes the way it should, I will get my car within 2 weeks. They are sending me the paperwork tomorrow.

That's exactly what I wanted and got (NJ). I just went to the dealership, told them exactly what I wanted, and they found it. Took them a few days to find it and another few days to get it since it wasn't in the tri-state area. Didn't even cost me anything extra. Got mine from Ray Catena in Edison, NJ.

if you factory order it, whatever incentives will be out you will qualify for.

most of the G37s rwd auto's I have get sold even before they get to the dealership. i had a few special order and i have the most of 6mt sedans since I had one myself. good luck but it's one of those rare cars to find in the northeast. just take a road trip somewhere and enjoy the ride back!

Hell yeah! Catch a flight to Miami or something and enjoy a couple days down there with it and drive it back up! That would be fun.

To STOOF,

Wife knows how to drive stick, but it bothers her knee.

And no, getting rid of the wife is not an option. ;-)

I live in the midwest and there are no RWD sedans anywhere in the snow belt. The local dealer found what we were looking for in AZ. Dealer trade and I'm still waiting for it to be delivered. Liquid platinum Journey premium pkg.

Good luck... I really wanted a RWD but gave up and settled for an Xs. I called dealers as far south as Virginia and I was willing to go down there to pick the car up, but the lease numbers sucked.

It can be done. I got one in NJ that was brought up from Florida.
Kenny get's them and my dealer in Ramsey after selling mine ordered another auto and now they have a 6MT listed on their site which I'm sure it's a special order like all the RWD G37 Sedans.
