Deodarizing Factry Carpet mats

Hi All, Just got an 09 G37XS, love the handling and comfort

Recently to clean some dirt from rain and mud, i used Oxy cleaner on the drivers side mat . The mat now has a striong smell from the OXy cleaner and I donno how to get rid of it

Can you guys recommend a good carpet/mat cleaner that will also deodarize and get rid of the OXy odor

Thanks

Take the mat out of the car and hose it down really good. Then just hang it up and let it dry.

There is a Fabreeze for car. Dunno what the difference is between that and the regular fabreeze.

I've used the Meguiar's car odor eliminator, worked great...

For problematic mats with stain, odor & other undesireables, I would use a power washer (just adjust it to a much lower setting). You would be surprised what comes out of these carpets. Just don't do this often to carpets as it may wear down the fabric under such pressures. This is only recommended if you have a "problem mat" but did not want to replace such. A friend had some carpet problems as he had a pet dog sitting on it frequently. We did this, but I mixed some clear colorless anti-septic Chlorhexidine soap solution. (Dont'e used colored betadine antiseptic, they stain heavily). Made it spanking brand new & nearly sterile carpet afterwards.

In a way, it's not what you merely apply to the "problem mat" but what you apply and remove from it. Deodorizing by masking alone may give you relapse odors. Pure deodorizing would entail some tranference of the odor-causing chemical to some other media (washed to rinse water/transferred to cloth or paper, or heated & made to rapidly evaporate).

Try this also if you don't have a power washer... get a steam cleaner (one you use for dress & cloth). Though for hygiene purposes, I would not use this for biologic odors since you risk contaminating the steam apparatus, especially if you want to still use you steam cleaner for other household purposes.

Hope this helps.
