I just keep hoping derek is right ... please Nissan ... bring it out late 2k6-early 2k7. I need a car around then and I don't want to pick up a 1st gen g35c if I know the 2nd gen is coming out the following year.

But signs tell me that this ain't gonna be the case . I might pick up a really cheap car (eg Honda Fit) to get me around 'til the g35c.

According to the Nissan marketing spokeperson from last week at the Nissan Open in L.A., he said there is a lot happening for Nissan this year. He then said that there is the new Sentra, new Versa, the redesign Quest and Maxima. And finally, he said there is the new 2007 G35 sedan by end of summer. No word on the coupe. I think coupe will be out probably by next spring, that's just my guess.

Sedan always comes out ahead of the Coupe...This was the case when the G35 first debuted.

It's also the way BMW does it with the 3 series, and I think a couple other car companies as well.

More sedans are sold than coupes. It makes sense from a business perspective to introduce a new sedan first.

That's ridiculous, just buy the current model, why wait? 2nd gen?

My bet: Auto G35 Sedan, RWD and AWD, Fall 06 as MY07. Continues trend of having less hp than 6MT model. (Probably up around 285-290hp though, so it'll still be a class leader.

6MT Sedan comes out same time as AT and 6MT Coupe in 07 as MY08, offers the 320-330hp version of the engine on both 6MTs, maybe AT Coupe if it is offered with a paddle-shifted clutchless manual.

why does infiniti release certain models with less hp anyway? why not the same hp all around? is it because their transmissions can't handle a certain amt of power? hopefully with a new AT transmission we'll be seeing an even 320 hp across teh board and none of this difference-by-10-or-20-hp silliness.

Actually class leader would still be the Lexus IS350 at 306hp.

It's hard to say, but I don't see why they wouldn't just release the 07MY sedan with more horsepower than the current coupe. Everyone knows a new coupe it coming. BMW released the new 3-Series sedan, and it had more horsepower than the coupe.

It's ugly, especially the pointy front end. Get the good looking models while they last.

That's not fair unless you've seen it in person... the crease could be much less pronounced than the pics lead you to believe. I don't think the coupe concept looks bad but I -DO- like the current generation coupe more exterior wise. Similar to Subaru's Tribeca, I'm sure it'll get less fugly with time.

Really? I did not know that. That's a comforting bit of info.

I forget where I read it I believe it was in the press release from the introduction. You don't hear that too often. Hell, who even says "Q45" that often?

It would be awesome if it was stroked to 3.8. The new sabb concept has a 3.8 liter biodesiel boasting 400 hp.

The Saab with lambo doors from MT- that car looks awesome - but you'll be lucky to ever see it and if you did it would be 2010 or 2011. THe g will still rule!
