Comfortable Aftermarket Seats

Both my wife and I are getting up there in years and my 2012 G37 Coupe's seats are too hard/firm. I've tried several cushions, which do help some, but still longer trips become painful (hip issues, mostly).

I was wondering if anyone has tried any aftermarket seats that are much cushier/comfortable than these hard stock seats. I enjoy driving my G37 but, lately, have started to consider getting rid of it due to this issue.

Thanks in advance!!!

I don't honestly think it'd be worth it. Spending thousands for an unknown level of comfort could go towards a replacement vehicle as well if you're looking that way already.

Thanks for the reply, Epiphany. I had a similar thought but wanted to explore my options before I dumped my car.

Anything aftermarket, especially for the Coupe, will be focused on performance/safety applications, not comfort.

Not sure how helpful this may be, but have you considered the possibility of maybe swapping in seats from the sedan, or maybe even the M37's?

Thanks ILM-NC G37S. And no, I haven't considered that. I didn't know that the sedan's seats were different from the coupes. I'll look into that...appreciate the suggestions!

The Coupe sport seats have additional metal bracing to keep butts firmly planted in the seat. This, plus the air badder system, sometimes make for a very uncomfortable ride after a while. There are several threads about this here on the forum (brace mod).

I had looked into swapping seats at one point, but because I have a 2008 the electrics are completely different than on the 2010+ models so I had to drop that plan at the time. That, and I hardly drive anymore so the discomfort does not bother me as much anymore.

Also, any competent upholstery shop might be able to replace the cushions with something that has more butt appeal. If you truly love the car, I am sure a comfy solution can be found!
