It was with a very heavy heart that I let go of the G this week. In nearly 7 years it became a good reliable friend, often preferred it to most people (depending on the day even my family, lol). I had countless hours in education, research, and hands on time to make it the car exactly how I wanted. Unfortunately the need to be a responsible adult trumped my ability to justify keeping a pleasure only car. I don't much care for the direction the economy is tracking and I'd like to be rid of as much debt as possible so I decided to take advantage of the inflated used car market as I was given a really strong offer from Carvana for the G, only having depreciated 17% in the time I owned the car is pretty good in my book and worth every penny.
The last few glamor shots... 1 from 2 weeks ago, 1 from the beginning of this week as she returned to OEM status, and 1 as she rolled out of my life. I didn't entirely realize how much I had modified until I had to undo it all. This forum has been a treasure trove of amazing information and good conversation. I imagine I'll continue to lurk as I find time, to see how things evolve. Hopefully I'll find my way back to a toy before too long...this G however will always hold a special place in my car guy heart.
Made a similar decision last month, though I choose to let it go with the minimal mods I done. Your build was something else entirely, seeing your part out I’m glad I sold mine before you. I would’ve ended up with a lot of your old parts lol.

When my day comes in a few years, it's going as is. That's a lot of work undoing things, going back to stock, and selling parts.
Pretty impressive seeing people actually do that.
It was definitely a difficult move to make. I may have shed a tear or two as it drove off. I always loved the look of the G which is why I only ever made subtle visible changes. I put all the work in myself of the installation of every part and piece that went on (and off). There was actually some therapeutic value in bringing it back to stock. If you've seen my threads in the classified section then you've seen where all the time and money went. It drove like a completely different car. I had it realigned before selling it and my mechanic was even sad, whenever I took it in to have inspected each year they'd always put it up on the lift to admire underneath the car. lol Financially it also made the most sense to pull the parts, I wouldn't have stood a chance to get someone to pay anywhere near what I should get for the car and parts separately. Overall it was a pretty easy job, I will definitely miss it. I still have my Q50S Hybrid as my daily so I haven't completely abandoned the VQ life. Oh, and Rochester it was AWD... sometimes I wished it was RWD then I could have gotten a manual, but for a brief period when I bought it, it was my daily and I needed AWD for the winter.
If you care to share, how many miles and what did they offer you?
It had 76,700 miles on it, I was the 2nd owner, I bought it with about 27k miles. Carvana offered me 18k. I shopped it around a little, Carmax where I bought it originally offered 16.5k, and Driveway offered 15.9k, Vroom was a measly 12.5k. Weird that there was such a range but it was hard to pass up Carvana. It was a remarkably fast and simple process.
