IPl wheel weight?

Does anyone know how much the IPL wheels weigh? Just checking out some aftermarket wheels and just want to make sure I get something lighter or not too much heavier. Thanks.

I don't have the exact number at the moment but they're heavy. Probably around 25-26lbs for the rears and 22-23lbs for the fronts. I can weigh them for you later this month when I swap on my track wheels.

Did you ever get a chance to weigh them?

I haven't gotten chance to yet, I didn't end doing the last track day so the wheels never came off at home. I do have to get the car in the air for some maintenance though, I should have the weights for you by next week.

Checking in on this thread. Any chance you weighed the wheels?

Sorry guys I totally blanked on this when I was working on the car last week. Luckily I'll have the wheels back off this week upcoming week to prep for my last track of the year. I created a reminder for myself.

Alright so if my digital bathroom scale is to be trusted I got the following :

19x8.5 Front IPL wheels 22.5lbs
19x9 Rear IPL wheels : 26.7lbs

Geez those rear wheels are quite a bit heavier than I originally thought.

Wow. Usually you'll only see a pound or 2 difference between front and rear wheels when it's only a half inch wider.

You’re right, the weights didn’t sit right with me either so I went back and double checked.

I’m running Michelin Pilot sport a/s 3+ 225/45/19 front and 245/40/19 rear.

Sure enough I looked up the rear weight for the new pilot sport 4 a/s @ 26lbs vs the older pilot sport a/s 3+ @28lbs that are actually mounted on my IPL wheels.

Tire weights references:

https://tiresize.com/tires/Michelin/...-AS-3-Plus.htm

I updated my previous post using the tiresize.com weights.

Its still a bigger difference than I’d expect but by picking up the wheels it feels about right.

Did you weigh yours without tires? 26.5 is quite heavier than the previously reported 22.5 lbs. Just curious.

That makes more sense.

The 18" Sport Wheels on the Sedan are 23.4 lbs and 18x7.5", 25.2 lbs and 18x8.0", respectively front to back.

So the specs on the 19" Sport Wheels on the Coupe at 26.5 lbs and 19x8.5", 27.0 lbs and 19x9.0"... seems entirely reasonable. I'd go with that.
