I purchased my 09 G37S Coupe 6MT on October 6th. So far the car has been great, have had 3 check engine lights come on.
1) first one was due to low oil pressure, which was because the dealer didn't know that my car had the plate between the upper and lower oil pan to increase oil compacity. I didn't beat on the car the first week I had it (I always shake down new vehicles I purchase). once the correct amount of oil was in the car then it was mint.
2) catalytic converter - My car has 144k, so im feeling like the exhaust is clogged. I'm going to put some ART pipes on the car and a motordyne exhaust
3) MAF - I had it happen twice and put me into limp mode. I reset the light on the side of the road via the pedal method. I cleaned my MAFs and haven't had a problem since.
CEL came on this morning, heading to Advance Auto so they can scan, pretty sure it will be the Cat.

Anyway, I have a bunch of questions. I've tried the search feature already FYI
1) My car is making a kind of "clunking" noise over bumps and whatnot in the back. Its noticeable only in parking lots and such. I'm thinking I'm going to do the control arm bushings all around with the Z1 Polyurethane kit. Basically, this year is my goal is to replace every single bushing on the car with Poly units, and work my way up from the bottom. I'm going to stick with a 19" wheel, and go with a 19x10 in the rear and a 19x9 or 9.5 in the front. This car is a daily driver and I don't want to get crazy. I want to run eveyrthing on the bear edge of being too big, so that way I don't have to clearance anything and the integrity of the car isn't compromised.
2) Those of you with BC Coilovers, how is the ride? I'm looking to keep the car just a tad under the stock height (its a daily driver, my goal is to build a fun, fast, spirited Daily with 500WHP)
3) Transmission Fluid. I'm getting SO many different types of advice. Some people say use the OEM fluid; because Redline will make the trans shift worst. Others say Redline will make it better. HELP! I'm also going to run Redline in the Diff as well. Car has 144k, I plan to do the fluids and then put a short throw shifter in. What do you guys recommend for a STS? I see like 5 brands, looking for something with the most adjustability and best feel.
4) Dashboard options. What have you guys done to fix your cracked dashboards? I watched a few videos on youtube, theres one where the guy said he spent $500 to have his dash redone. Its either have it rewrapped in Alcantara for $1600 or have the factory leather texture put back on for cheaper.
5) Looking for the smallest and lightest battery I can put in it, without compromising reliability, its a daily driver.
