Brake pads covers

I took my car to brakes plus yesterday to change the rotors and brakes. When I picked it up today I was checking out the new rotors and I noticed some scuffs on my brake pads that I don’t believe was there. Any idea if this damage could have been done because of a sloppy mechanic? I’m thinking of contacting corporate. Thoughts ?

I guess the "mechanic" could have done it. Contact corporate and see what happens. Couldn't hurt.

Ouch. I'm curious to know what they will say. Most the time, their work order that you sign prior to their working on it, says something about damage liability etc. And if you don't have close up pictures of your brakes before, then it's gonna be hard to prove otherwise. Probably won't even own up to it, especially if you drove off their lot after the service without bringing it up to them. Good luck though. Update us here what happens!

And that's why I do my own brakes lol along with saving a ton of money.

Like said above; if you don't have before pictures it may be hard to prove. It definitely looks like neglect on the mechanic's part if they truly were fine before. Those pins have to come out when changing the pads so likely he was not careful when removing and putting them back in. He might have used something as well to compress the caliper pistons which then could have potentially messed up the finish if not careful.
