Flooded car
Hurricane Harvey hit Houston pretty damn hard and everything is flooded. I cannot move my car because the water gets deeper further away from the parking spot. I moved my car on top of the curb so the front wheels point the hood of my car up. At what water level should I be concerned about possible flood damage to my car?

I also drove through an extreme torrential downpour for an hour where I could not even see my car lights and had to travel 15mph on the highway. I have a Stillen gen 3 intake and I started the car yesterday to move it on top of the curb and it was idling rough and making strange noises. I did not drive through any huge puddles or standing water. The car never stalled during the drive either. What are the odds of water damage such as a bent rod? Should I not risk starting it again? Should I tow it to a mechanic to pull the spark plugs and change all the fluids?

Yeah I didn't want to risk turning it over either. I just have no idea when I could get it towed. I'm glad to hear that you got the muffler safe and sound though

In the photo you have zero damage to your car. As far as driving through water, cars are way more resilient than most folks seem to believe. If your engine invested water you'd know it then. Water doesn't compress and your engine would have told you if there was water sucked into the combustion chambers. Stay safe and be careful in the remainder of the rains and the aftermath.

I'd bet wet MAS. I ran a true CAI on my Stealth at one time. I drove through an area where water was laying and the car tried to die. I dumped almost a cup of water out of my mass air flow sensor, put it back on and the car and it fired right up.

Thanks man. Yes it's catastrophic, but everyone is coming together and helping each other out. People are out on boats handing out food and water and shelters are being set up. Can't believe that hurricane formed in 56 hours. I don't understand why the mayor didn't order an evacuation..
