I have a budget of $500 and wanted to know if anyone could give me some ideas for upgrades, mainly looks

Tein basis coilovers for 500$

 

Yeah, the Teins are a great bang-for-the-buck suspension upgrade.
Also consider a tire upgrade depending on the tires you are currently running & the condition they are in.

 

If you want to truly get the most bang for your buck, I'd buy some lowering springs. Either Tein S tech (really low) or H tech or eibach for ~$200.

And then I'd use the remaining money to buy this lip for your car.

IMO, the lip will make the greatest improvement in looks for the money, more so than lowering.

Buy some high heat caliper paint...really cheap varies on brands, also get some break decals, paint the lights, wrap the top black, and matching lug nuts. So it looks real nice outside 🤘

 

If that's all you have then save it till you can get something to support the mods, IMHO. You'll realize down the road that it's the smarter way to go.

-Coilovers are nice, but a bit harsh depending on what your goal is.

-Springs are okay until you realize that your car is nearly a decade old and the shocks will probably be going out soon. Then you'll also have to address the wheel tucked in issue.

-Brake paint and matching lugs, really?

 

Yeah make it your style/color,
make it different from others.. give it a unique look on the outside from others. I mean you can't really buy too many performance mods with 500. It's not much. Unless your patient and wait until you have more $.

 

I would just keep saving up instead of buying small mods here and there. I did that when I first bought the car such as short ram intakes, springs, etc. Started saving up and then realized I hated all that stuff and redid it all over again, coils, cold air intakes, custom exhaust, test pipes, tune.
