Has anyone replaced their front CV shafts on the g37x and if so what brand did you use. Rockauto has them for about $60 a piece which seems cheap. Think they are Cardone brand (which is the same as the NAPA one). Any luck with these?

When I got my car both CV's went out fairly quickly. I went with Cardone (new, not remaned) because, well, I couldn't find a reason not to. It's been ~40,000 miles and no issues so far; plus I'm pretty low to the ground.

Great thanks. I'll give them a try. One last question, to get them out of the transfer case you just rip/pry it out?

I had a pickle fork (ball joint separator) that fit perfectly. It was seated pretty good but no more then other cars I've swap out CVs on.

Just out of curiosity were both of yours clicking loudly? Mine are not there yet but are humming (gear whine) with a slight tapping when I jack the car up and spin the wheels. (The wheel bearings are brand new).

Nope, no clicking. Only noticed during a routine look over on the under-belly of the car during an oil change. Passenger side went first, then the drivers a month later. Boots just did not like the new lowered torture angle I had them at and they were over 100,000 miles old at the time.

Hey zer099...when you pulled both the shafts out of the differential did oil pour out? I don't want oil to cover my garage floor.

So the drivers side unbolts from the carrier on the other side of the oil pan, nothing to worry about there. The passenger side goes straight into the diff. It didn't drain any when i did it but i wasn't on a lift so it was all jacked up and not level. If you are level I imagine you might get some oil, so put a pan under to be safe.
